A little of history
Printmaking is an ancient artistic technique that allows to obtain multiple printnts starting from a plate.The plate can be made of different materials:

wood(xilography/wood block)

limestone (lithography)
-
metal plate (dry - point, etching, aquatint, soft wax ground,...)
-
seta (silk screen)
Lots of artists dedicated to this kind of art, even if it's very difficult. No mistakes are allowed as it is almost impossible to make corrections. In case of mistakes, it is necessary to start from the beginnin on a new plate.
In art history printmaking allowed to spread knowledge of artworks in a time in which nor photography, nor movable type printing, invented byGutemberg around 1450.
Each matter has its own rules and needs particular instruments.
