_cc781905-5cde Second-3194-bb3b-136bad5c many artistic experiences are born after World War II Some of these are gathered around groups of artists and movements, but there are also many artists who move independently, in search of new ways that can tell the world following an event so shocking as to mark a sort of watershed in the history of 'humanity.
A first observation that we can make concerns the fact that the art world, in a certain sense, splits in two: on the one hand, the artists who continue to express themselves through iconic images (that is, they represent recognizable subjects); on the other, the artists who use aniconic forms (abstract and informal) in which it is increasingly difficult to find connections with reality. The motivation that pushes many artists in this direction is the prevalence of a river of emotions aroused by the experience of the war. The priority of these artists is to express their emotions and not to send messages.
